In my opinion, not much happened this episode. Michiko finds a love interest who turns out to be a philanderer, Hatchin gets robbed by adolescent pirates, gets angry at Michiko who looked like she is going to run off with that guy instead of looking for Hiroshi, and in the end almost drowns trying to get her stuff back from the pirates. Well, she Hatchin did turn ten this episode, so I guess there was some progress.
I loved the feel of this episode, especially the opening few minutes. The music, pacing, and tone were great and really made me feel the setting. Ah, such an excellent show...
It was interesting to see a different side of Michiko, at first I thought the episode was going to end with Hatchin drowning, glad we got to see the outcome of that. It's turning out to be a great series.
Well it was interesting seeing the Michiko fall for the playboy, I guess she has a thing for cool stylish guys. I thought Michiko was going to rescue Hatchin, it didn't seem like the boys were the caring type. Otherwise music was amazing.

i actually disliked this episode. everything we've seen so far was flipped upside down. i was pissed off at michiko this whole episode, i just couldn't stand her selfishness and whorish acts.
hatchin should be close to dead, if not retarded. she lost way too much oxygen to be just normal.
on the flip side, michiko looked absolutely beautiful this episode. the director's style definitely portrays the human body wonderfully.
Certainly the most emotional episode so far, M & H looked so miserable in the beginning and they don't seem to know what to do with themselves or their quest.
Michiko was looking fabulous, even though she was miserable and Hatchin is becoming more of a badass than Michiko.
music was so great, i like this guitar-based latin music.....a lil bit drama in this ep.....hope they keep up the good work, although i miss a real plot a lil bit.....

Great episode, great atmosphere and story (although it doesn't progress as quickly as I would like), Michiko and Hatchin are definitely having big problems doing anything of their lives now ;)
In every age, in every place, the deeds of men remain the same.
Each episode it gets better!! I was so happy when Hatchin won. I wanted so bad for those bullies to drown. And I love how Michiko's passed out on the floor at the end of the episode. XD
Like everyone else, I couldn't believe Michiko fell for that guy's game, I guess she's lonelier than she lets on. Hatchin's tough act is too cute, but I couldn't stand seeing her nearly drown. The music is awesome, the ED theme is the best of '08.
why oh why is it so good. a new side to michiko. finally she showed how much she was really hurting inside. and about time for hatchin to stand up for herself.
I like how this series's argument is progressing. There is nothing clear by now, and everything seems a little chaotic, and I like this ^^. Btw, music was amazing, love Brazilian spanish-guitar ballads :)

Yup, exactly what I thought. We've had alot of fast paced episodes recently which isn't a bad thing but having one of these slower paced episodes really added something entirely different to the series. The fact Michiko almost gave herself away to that manwhore gave her a sense of humanity rather than the superwoman we've been used to. I felt this episode was full of character development. I also loved Hatchin's fight, she's really taking after Michiko with picking fights she can't win xD
I didn't find it suprising that Michiko fell for him, she's lonely. She's a girl, she wants to be loved alright. The one she wants isn't around, hope for his survival can only go so far. I would've probably done the same fucking thing, it saddened me though in the end when Hatchin claimed to be ten.
Fate brings the two together everyytime!
ps- since I watch Hitchiko as my night show before I go to bed, I had a dream that I dropped my IPOD into the water and had to get it, intense and scary.
We got to see Michiko in a brend new light. Previously we'd only seen her in an arrogant manner, but now we saw her in a love light. She seems to act retarded when she's in love.

Agreed. I can't believe how easily she fell for that fag.

Great! Human needs=whorish acts. So basically everybody is a wh*re *facepalm*.
Michiko has never been a mother, she just started to look after Hatchin.
Do you expect her to be all-loving mother in one episode or two?
And this kind of 'love' happens. When you meet somebody and just... your heart starts to beat faster. It's not a lasting love, it's just a reaction that may fade away soon.
I actually liked this episodes. I likes the atmosphere. I liked the guy too. Manners, elegance, beauty, a little pushy... It's worth the one time thing xD.
it was actually a nice change getting a slower paced episode, as much as I love the fast paced action, this one had a totally different tone and atomosphere, but i do think a little more could have progressed, but nonetheless still a great series so far *loads epsiode 8*
seriously i dont think michiko is selfish or a whore i could see myself doing that if i was in that situation and hatchin is badass but she gotta stop acting so reckless she still a child and i think those wanna be pirate boys saved hatchin because they respected her and she did technically win the bet....
and you guys there is something significant about hatchin turning 10 remember in episode 1 or 2 michiko said hiroshi daughter should be 9now and hatchin said she was 11.. hatchin turning 10 proves thats hiroshi and michiko daughter <3 <3 <3 <3
Feeling bad for Hatchin . . . I mean it isn't like Michiko should be expected to be a good parent or anything, but the fact that she has nearly died twice just to get her shoes back . . . Rough life.
