Ok so I just realized I've never commented on this even after somewhere near 100 viewings. Thus is the BEST white lights jam!!! This is the video I use to explain the "why" I love jam bands so much to the uninitiated. I walk them through the first fake out where it could be going into another song [ to the untrained ear] then the surprisingly ferocious Pop back into the jam, then the 2cd fake out, as if we've hit the crescendo and are slowing down, although the drums say otherwise and the OMG return to the fastest lick (causing a "one legged weedeater moment") and then the outbreath release of the refrain where your whole everything understands that we are STILL IN THE SAME SONG!!! HOLY SHIT! Smiles abound and everything is right in the world. We forget that the mainstreamians have yet to grasp the pleasure of watching to see of the band can pull it off jam after jam! I'm 47, been around the scene for 30 years, thank you for giving me the "teachable moment" video, I cannot love it enough, so glad I found you guys !!
Rick's guitar solo toward the end of 726 is a masterpiece! Love it when Peter jumps on the Hammond during the guitar solo. Classic Jam. Pull up the Rock Encyclopedia and find the chapter on Jam Bands where it talks about guitar solos with a Hammond B-3 playing underneath and this jam will be an example of how its done correctly. Epic!!
